About Our Initiative

The Germplasm Traceable Community Seed Bank by BADC helps protect local seeds and farming traditions in Bangladesh. It keeps records of each seed’s origin to make sure they are pure and safe. These seeds grow well in local conditions, fight off pests, and give good harvests. The seed bank supports farmers, protects nature, and helps future generations grow healthy crops.

Each seed accession is precisely logged with its geographical origin, collection date, and the name of the custodian farmer, honoring their contribution and knowledge.

Crucially, we document the stories, cultural significance, traditional uses, and indigenous farming practices associated with each unique germplasm, keeping heritage alive.
